New Delhi: In Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the two union territories formed after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the central government has now started preparations to emphasize the strength of local self-government. On the lines of Dehradun and Shillong, now the elected representatives of the Panchayats in Leh and Srinagar will be given the training to strengthen democracy.
For this ‘Parliamentary Outreach Program’ is going to be organized here. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate this program to be held in Leh on August 27 and in Srinagar on August 31. The objective of this program is to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the Parliamentary Outreach Program for Empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions of the Union Territory of Ladakh in Leh on August 27. About 195 participants of Panchayati Raj Institutions will participate directly in the program.
