New Delhi: The Centenary Year Celebrations of All India Presiding Officers will be organized in Shimla from 16 to 19 November, 2021. Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla will inaugurate the 82nd All India Presiding Officers’ Conference on 17th November (some sessions could not be held in between). Their first session was held on 14 September 1921 in Shimla under the chairmanship of Speaker Frederick Whyte.
Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh Shri Jai Ram Thakur, all members of the Council of Ministers, dignitaries, General Secretaries of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh and Police Chief Himachal Pradesh were also present in this function. Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Vipin Singh Parmar said that in the centenary year, this would be the 82nd Conference of All India Presiding Officers while the 58th Conference of Secretaries would be held. Shri Parmar informed that initially this function was to be organized in Dharamsala, but the first conference of All India Presiding Officer was organized in Shimla from 15 to 17 September, 1921. Because of this, it is now being organized in Shimla. The Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, the Presiding Officer (Chairman) of Legislative Assemblies, Legislative Councils, Vice-Chairman and Principal Secretary/Secretary will also participate in this function. Shri Parmar said that a conference of secretaries would be held on November 16 and presiding officers on November 17 and 18.
In this connection, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Vipin Singh Parmar met the Chairman of the All India Presiding Officers’ Conference in New Delhi and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Mr. Om Birla, at the Lok Sabha Secretariat, New Delhi on October 28 and related to the event.
