New Delhi: In a dramatic scene in the assembly on Friday, TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu vowed to return to the House only as a chief minister, holding a walkout to protest personal remarks made by YSR Congress (YSRC) MLAs. During the discussion on the agriculture sector
The trouble started when the TDP MLA was making some remarks on the Chief Minister and raised the issue of alleged involvement of YSRC MLA Ambati Rambabu in some cases, when he objected to the allegations against the CM. He replied that there are criminal cases on the other side also and Mr. Naidu should be ready to discuss them.
Some of the YSRC MLAs even went so far as to say that Mr Naidu had a hand in the murders of Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga and Alimineti Madhava Reddy, and repeatedly criticized that he had killed his father-in-law N.T. The fall of Rama Rao.
The ruling party legislators said it was Mr Naidu who was the Y.S. From the very beginning have been making inflammatory remarks about the status of the investigation. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder in the context of a wild allegation that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was behind the crime, and this led to his comments, which, he claimed, were not personal.
When Mr Naidu and his party MLAs, and the YSRC MLAs were shouting at each other, Minister Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao was said to have said a derogatory word about Mr Naidu and this led to an uproar.
Speaker Thammineni Seetharam tried in vain to restore order as Ministers Sri Venkateswara Rao and Balineni Srinivas Reddy, MLA B. Madhusudan Reddy and others came to the Well of the House and got angry with Mr. Naidu and the TDP MLAs.
When the Speaker accepted his demand that he be allowed to speak, Mr Naidu said he was deeply saddened by the humiliation inflicted on him and claimed that his family was being dragged at the behest of the CM.
Shri Naidu regretted that during the nearly four decades of his political career in which he had to go through this intense campaign of character assassination, having walked shoulder to shoulder with who among the national leaders.
He then took an oath that he would not return to the House until he became the CM, but his word was lost in the ruckus as his mike had been cut by then.
