New Delhi: Ahead of the budget session of Parliament, top leaders of the Congress party met through a virtual meeting to discuss strategies.
According to sources, the committee decided to work closely with like-minded parties.
The meeting, which was presided over by party president Sonia Gandhi, was attended by leaders of both the houses of the Congress party – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
They brainstormed on the issues to be raised in both the houses, the floor strategy, how to reach out to other opposition parties.
“The strategy for this budget session will be different as we move towards the assembly elections,” said a member of the committee.
According to sources, in the backdrop of assembly elections in five states, opposition parties want key issues to be debated in Parliament.
The party is planning to raise issues like farmers’ issues of Lakhimpur Kheri area, price rise, unemployment, law and order, China border issue, sale of Air India and Kovid in both the houses of Parliament.
