Chennai : Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla today said that India, with its consistent growth and technical prowess, has transformed in a land of opportunities. He added that the youth of Tamil Nadu, with their knowledge and skills, are excelling in various sectors worldwide. He said that in his numerous travels around the world, he has witnessed firsthand that in diverse sectors like IT, medicine, engineering, or other professional fields, Indian youth are holding prominent positions globally, thus enhancing India’s presence on the world stage.
Shri Birla was addressing the 15th Convocation Ceremony of the VELS Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS). He appreciated the Institute for providing its students with world class education in engineering, medicine, and other advanced fields, enabling them to use their knowledge and research to enhance their careers and contribute to the future of India.
Observing that Tamil Nadu, known for its rich culture, language, and technical prowess, offers an exceptional blend of knowledge and modern technical education, Shri Birla said that students from the State, equipped with new confidence and passion, are prepared to turn their dreams into reality and contribute towards the making of Viksit Bharat. He hoped that the contribution of the youth will play a vital role in the development of the nation, not only through job creation but also through technological advancements and manufacturing.
Mentioning that Indian youth is self-reliant, disciplined, and possesses a strong desire to achieve new goals, Shri Birla said that India is poised to become a global leader in the 21st century, and the youth will play a key role in this journey. He urged the youth to dream big and to turn their dreams into reality.
Appreciating the several cutting-edge research centers at VISTAS, such as those for renewable energy, alternative fuels, artificial intelligence, automation, material research, and pharmaceutical sciences, Shri Birla said that these centers provide students not only with high-quality education but also guide them toward achieving new goals through research and innovation.
Stating that success and failure are part of life, and that one must learn from both, Shri Birla said that every failure is a learning opportunity, and each setback brings one closer to new dreams and goals. He added that no matter how many obstacles one may face in life, one must never lose hope. He underlined that with new goals and confidence, one will one day achieve success.
Speaking about the inspirational land of Tamil Nadu, Shri Birla said that the people, the culture, and the heritage of Tamil Nadu always motivate the nation. Mentioning the towering achievements and inspirational tale of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who was born in Tamil Nadu, he said that his life teaches us that despite struggles; strong determination and vision can help one achieve anything. He added that Dr. Kalam’s journey reminds us that with the right direction and resolve, one can reach one’s goals. Shri Birla called on the students to dream big, make resolutions, and work hard. He added that their dreams and resolutions will lead to success. He also recalled the inspirational journey of P. Gopinath who motivates the youth across the globe.
