Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla leaves for Vienna to attend World Speakers Conference and World Parliament Summit

New Delhi: A parliamentary delegation led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla left for Austria’s capital Vienna on Monday. The delegation left for Vienna from Delhi at around 4.30 am. During his visit, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will lead the Indian contingent at the World Speakers Conference and the World Parliament Summit. The team that left with him includes many leaders including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh. These conferences are being organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Geneva and the Parliament of Austria in collaboration with the United Nations.

The fifth World Speakers Conference is going to be organized in Vienna on September 7 and 8, in which Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla left Delhi with an Indian delegation to attend. At the same time, the first World Parliamentary Summit will also be organized on 9 September to combat terrorism.

During his visit, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will also hold bilateral meetings with the Speakers of Parliaments of other countries. This visit of the Lok Sabha Speaker is also considered very important from the point of view of diplomacy. During this, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh will also accompany him.

The World Speakers Conference is being organized after almost five years. During this, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will introduce other countries to the spirit of India’s world brotherhood.
