Parliamentarians pay floral tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee

New Delhi: Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and Lok Sabha Speaker, Shri Om Birla,paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his Birth Anniversary, today.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and  Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal; Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and Minister of State, Prime Minister Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, Dr. Jitendra Singh and Minister of State, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on this occasion.

Several Members of Parliament, former Members of Parliament and  other dignitaries paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

Secretary General , Lok Sabha, Shri Utpal Kumar Singh and Secretary General, Rajya Sabha, Shri P. C. Mody also paid floral tributes.

A booklet containing the profile of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat in Hindi and English, was presented to the dignitaries who attended the function.

The portrait of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was unveiled by the then President of India, Shri R. Venkataraman, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 31 May 1991, in recognition of his outstanding services to the nation.
