Jaipur: Jaipur: Amid the uproar in the house, a privilege motion has been passed against the NDA ally Rashtriya Lokdal (RLD) MLA Subhash Garg in Rajasthan Vidhansabha on Monday.
What is interesting is that the motion was brought by the ruling BJP which is leading the NDA in center while MLA Garg got the support of Congress MLAs in the house who created rukos in the house and staged a walkout against the motion.
The Speaker Vasudev Devnani taking a voice vote handed over the motion to the Privilege Committee of the house who’ll probe the matter. The motion was presented by the Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg who alleged the RLD MLA Subhash Garg of giving wrong facts in the house regarding giving notices to the people living in Lohagarh of Bharatpur.
“Subhash Garg raised the issue of notices to the residents of Lohagarh in Bharatpur during the zero hour in the Assembly on February 24. He wasted the time of the Assembly by giving wrong facts as not a single notice has been given there. This is a violation of privileges. There may be a conspiracy to take some advantage under its guise. It created fear among the people,” said Chief Whip.
“If such a privilege motion is brought based on the issues raised in the Assembly, then no MLA will be able to raise the voice of his constituency. This is like murder of democracy,” said Julie with other Congress MLAs.
While the RLD MLA Subhash Garg said that he has all the evidence, and he’ll present them before the Privilege Committee of the house. “I have no problem with the motion as I have all the evidence which I’ll submit before the Privilege Committee. This probe will uncover many faces,’ said Garg.
Notably, Subhash Garg is a former Congressman and is close to former CM Ashok Gehlot. He switched to RLD before the assembly elections of 2013 and was elected from Bharatpur. Gehlot made him state minister in his government.
