New Delhi: The Lok Sabha introduced a Smart Card Based Identity Card for the members of Parliament from the forthcoming session.
According to a circular issued by Lok Sabha secretariat “A new Smart Card based Identity Card is being prepared for Members of Parliament for access in the New Parliament Building. The Smart Card based Identity Card shall be highly secure with several safety features embedded into the system.
In this regard members are informed that a facilitation counter is being set up at the VIP gate, PHA (in the vicinity of IRCTC ticket counter and Committee Room-E) for the purpose of collection of personal and biometric data. The process also involves a photograph for the Smart Card and registration on the Facial Recognition System.
The facilitation counter is functional on all working days from Monday, the 2nd January, 2023 to Friday, 13th January 2023 from 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs. The secretariat requested to the members to avail the facility by visiting the facilitation counter for completion of self-registration.”
