New Delhi: The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament will review the ‘Operational Readiness of IAF Defence’ and ‘Capital Acquisition in Indian Air Force’ besides ‘Training of Officers in Indian Navy Defence and Quality management in Ordnance factories dealing with the Ammunition and Explosives.’
The PAC has selected these additional subjects based on various Reports of the C&AG of India, pertaining to various Ministries/Departments, for examination during the year 2021-22. These subjects become more important due to debate on the acquisition of Rafale aircraft by the Government. The PAC selected 17 additional subjects: 4 belongs to Defence Ministry, 3 belongs to Railway, 5 related to Finance ministry and I to New & Renewable Energy ministry.
RAILWAY MINISTRY: Accounting of Assets in Indian Railways (Railways Finances), Development of railway land for commercial use by Rail Land Development Authority Railways and Concessions to Passengers in Indian Railways.
FINANCE MINISTRY: Working of Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and Container Freight Stations (CFSs) Finance (Department of Revenue), Monitoring Mechanism for Appeal Cases in CBIC Finance (Department of Revenue), Monitoring Mechanism for Recovery of Arrears in CBIC Finance (Department of Revenue), Effectiveness of Tax Administration and Internal Controls (Service Tax) Finance (Department of Revenue), Effectiveness of Tax Administration and Internal Controls (Central Excise) Finance (Department of Revenue) .
New & Renewable NEW RENEWABLE ENERGY MINISTRY: Non-utilisation of Solar Thermal Power Plant.
