New Delhi: The Prime Minister on Monday held a virtual meeting with 3 teams working on the development and manufacture of Kovid-19 vaccine. These teams were Genoa Biopharmaceuticals Limited Pune, Biological E Limited Hyderabad and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited Hyderabad.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts being made to make vaccines in these companies to deal with Covid-19. The capacity of various platforms for vaccine development was also discussed.
The Prime Minister also asked the companies to give their suggestions and views regarding regulatory procedures and related matters. He also suggested that they make extra efforts to inform the general public about the vaccine and related matters like its efficacy etc. in simple language. Issues related to logistics, transportation, cold chain etc. were also discussed in relation to distribution of vaccines.
The trials and detailed data of the companies from which the vaccine was discussed are in various stages and the results are expected to come early next year.
The Prime Minister advised all concerned departments to engage with manufacturers and resolve matters so that the efforts being made by these companies to meet the needs of the country and the whole world can result.
