Turncoat MLA Gandhi now PAC chief; BRS fumes

Hyderabad: Telangana assembly speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Monday appointed Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi as the chairperson of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and 12 others comprising MLAs and MLCs from Congress, BRS, AIMIM, and CPI.

Likewise, Kodad MLA N Padmavathi Reddy has been appointed as the chairperson of the Committee on Estimates, with 12 others as members from various parties, including the BJP.

However, BRS working president KT Rama Rao and MLA T Harish Rao found fault with the Congress govt’s decision to appoint turncoat BRS MLA Arekapudi Gandhi as PAC chairman, terming it a mockery of democracy.

“There is no tradition of appointing a PAC chairman who has defected,” he pointed out.

Harish Rao said Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to speak about the Constitution until he corrects this injustice in Telangana.
