2nd Youth Immersion Program on Assam Legislative Assembly functioning held at Bodoland University

Guwahati: The second edition of the Youth Immersion Program on the Procedures and Functioning of the Assam Legislative Assembly 2025 was conducted on Tuesday at the Jwhwlao Nileshwar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar.

The event aimed to enhance young people’s understanding of democratic governance and parliamentary operations. Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary attended as the Chief Guest, delivering a detailed session on legislative processes. He explained the complexities of parliamentary procedure, stressing that a robust understanding of democratic systems is crucial for youth, who play a decisive role in shaping the state and nation’s future.

The program was officially inaugurated by Promod Boro, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), who described the initiative as both significant and timely. In his address, Boro underlined that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, possessing the potential to transform governance through knowledge, vision, and integrity.

He called for youth to pursue political life with seriousness and purpose, grounded in education and a strong grasp of legislative processes. Emphasizing leadership built on learning, policy awareness, and peace-building, Boro encouraged providing young citizens with the right guidance to ensure their contributions lead to meaningful change in society.
