G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit Began at Brasilia with meeting of Parliamentary Forum

Brasilia : G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) began in Brasilia with the meeting of the Parliamentary Forum today . Through the topic Parliaments for a just world and a sustainable planet, this Tenth Summit will seek to promote exchanges of good practices and to identify, through constructive and purposeful interaction, strategies and initiatives in which parliamentary diplomacy can positively impact the lives of all.

The 10th edition of the P20 Summit will provide an unparalleled opportunity for the representative assemblies of the world’s largest economies to contribute to sustainable, equitable and inclusive growth. The P20 Summit will convene under the theme Parliaments for a just world and a sustainable planet.

The primary focus of the discussions will be on the role of parliaments in addressing hunger, poverty and inequality; promoting socio-environmental development and a just and inclusive ecological transition; and building a global governance framework adapted to the challenges of the 21st century.

Indian delegation led by Rajya Sabha Vice Chairperson Sh. Harivansh is participating in the conference.
