New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated the new Parliament House to the nation on Sunday. Before the inauguration on this historic day, PM Modi honored the workers who constructed the new Parliament House by wearing a shawl and also handed over mementos to them during this time.
On this occasion, PM Modi said that today our hearts and minds are filled with pride and hope as the new building of the Parliament of India has been inaugurated. May this iconic building be a cradle of empowerment, awakening dreams and turning them into reality. May it take our great nation to new heights of progress.
Before the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi bowed down to ‘Sengol’. After this, the scepter ‘Sengol’ was established near the chair of the Lok Sabha Speaker in the new Parliament House. Before its installation in the new Parliament House, the historic ‘Sengol’ was handed over to PM Modi by Adinams (heads of Hindu monasteries). As the national symbol of Amrit Kaal, ‘Sengol’ has been installed in the Parliament House. The dedication ceremony began with a traditional ‘puja’ as per Vedic rituals. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also present with PM Modi during the puja.
Took the blessings of the saints
After the installation of ‘Sengol’, PM Modi also received the blessings of saints from various Aadinams of Tamil Nadu. This is the same Sengol, which was accepted by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at his residence on the night of 14 August in the presence of several leaders.
It is being told that after the worship, the dignitaries will inspect the premises of the Lok Sabha chamber and the Rajya Sabha chamber in the new building.
