Srinagar : National Conference leader and the leader of the NC-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, will take oath as Chief Minister on October 16, the politician stated in an X post.
Sharing a letter of invitation by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Omar Abdullah shared an image with the Principal Secretary of LG. The LG mentioned the letter from Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, which stated that Omar had been chosen as the leader of the legislature party.
“I have received a letter of 11th October 2024 from Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, wherein it has been informed that you have been unanimously elected as Leader of the Legislature Party,” LG’s letter to Omar Abdullah stated.
Omar Abdullah is set to become the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory after the scrapping of Article 370 in 2019.
