Amman (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi met on Monday with Spanish Ambassador to Jordan, José Luis Pardo Cuerdo, to discuss boosting parliamentary relations between the two countries.
Qadi pointed to the deep relations between Amman and Madrid, which are marked by mutual respect and a joint commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors. He stressed closer legislative ties to match the political relationship and foster deeper economic, investment, and developmental partnerships.
The Lower House Chief pointed to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s diplomatic endeavors at both regional and international levels to defuse tensions in the Middle East and find a political horizon based on the two-state solution, leading to an independent Palestinian state The Spanish envoy said his country is committed to enhancing cooperation with Jordan across various sectors, noting the growing relations and coordination between the two countries.
He said Spain is interested in expanding parliamentary, economic, and investment ties, and lauded Jordan’s leadership under King Abdullah II in supporting regional peace and stability.
He stressed coordination to arrive at political solutions to regional conflicts, top of which is the Palestinian people’s right to statehood.
