New Delhi: The one-month budget session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly will begin with a policy speech by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan here on Friday.
Assembly Speaker MB Rajesh said on Wednesday that the fourth session of the 15th Assembly will begin from February 18 and the budget will be presented by Finance Minister KN Balagopal on March 11.
Giving details of the proceedings of the upcoming session, he told reporters that the House would pay tribute to the late Trikkakkara MLA PT Thomas, who died of cancer recently on February 21 and there would be no other business on that day.
The Assembly will witness the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address for three days from February 22.
However, there will be no session from February 25 to March 10.
“Finance Minister KN Balagopal will present the budget and related documents for the financial year 2022-23 in the House on March 11. A general discussion on the budget will be held on March 14, 15 and 16,” the Speaker said.
