Last assembly session of second Pinarayi government to begin on January 20; budget presentation on 29th

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The last assembly session of the second Pinarayi Vijayan government will be held from January 20. The cabinet meeting held today decided to recommend to the Governor to convene the assembly session on January 20. The Governor’s policy speech will be on January 20. The budget is on the 29th. This is the 16th session of the 15th Kerala Assembly.

The cabinet meeting also decided to regularize those working on honorarium/daily wage basis in cultural centers, panchayat libraries, child care centers and nursery schools in the state. Those who have been appointed as part of the 11th program or not and who have been working continuously for 10 or more years will be made regular.

Librarians, nursery teachers and ayahs will be made permanent as part-time contingent employees. Those who were temporarily appointed through the employment exchange and converted to honorarium/daily wage will also get this benefit. 159 posts will be created in the Kochi Cancer Research Centre, including 91 permanent posts and 68 contract posts. 12 scientific officer posts will be created in the Forensic Science Laboratory. The posts are 3 in the Biology section, 4 in the Chemistry section and 5 in the Documents section.
