On this day, I salute our freedom fighters whose dedication and sacrifice led to our independence. This festival of Independence reminds us of those days when our people made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. Today is a day to draw inspiration from their struggles and their patriotism.
With the same dedication, sacrifice and hard work with which the freedom fighters liberated the nation, today we all must pledge that we will fulfill our responsibility of nation building through collective strength, power and hard work. Only through our collective efforts it is possible to achieve the resolve of a developed, prosperous and self-reliant India.
