Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Inspects Arrangements in Parliament House Complex for Upcoming Winter Session

New Delhi : Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla today inspected various arrangements and facilities within the Parliament House Complex ahead of the upcoming Winter Session – third session of the 18th Lok Sabha.

In this regard, Shri Birla inspected the Lok Sabha Chamber, corridors, lobbies, waiting rooms, media facilities and other key areas.

Shri Birla mentioned that several significant events will be taking place in Parliament House Complex during the Winter Session, including Samvidhan Diwas, Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, and the function to mark the anniversary of attack on Parliament. This year’s Samvidhan Diwas is special as it will also coincide with 75th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of India.
He instructed all concerned officials to ensure that the necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate the smooth conduct of proceedings.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the Session, Shri Birla directed all agencies to collaborate effectively. He also inspected the catering services provided by ITDC within the Parliament House and directed the concerned agencies to ensure hygiene and cleanliness.

Shri Birla also reviewed the security arrangements at the Complex and instructed officials to maintain a balance between ensuring unhindered access for Hon. Members of Parliament and upholding the highest standards of security.
