Nari Shakti Vandan Is A Significant Step Towards Building A Truly Inclusive And Developed India : Minister Dr Mandaviya

New Delhi: Addressing A Programme At Shri Ram College Of Commerce, University Of Delhi, In The National Capital, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Highlighted The Transformative Role Of Women In Parliament. He Said Indian Democracy Has Empowered Women To Rise To The Highest Offices, Including The Presidency, And Emphasised That Inclusive Governance Is Key To National Progress.

The Ministry Of Youth Affairs And Sports Today Organised The Nationwide Nari Shakti Youth Parliament Through The Mera Yuva Bharat Platform. The Initiative Was Conducted Simultaneously Across 17 Zones, Bringing Together Over 7 Thousand Young Women In An Exercise Of Structured Democratic Participation And Youth-Led Policy Dialogue.

It brought together young women from diverse academic, social, and regional backgrounds, creating a credible and structured platform for deliberation on issues central to the country’s democratic and developmental journey. The session culminated with the adoption of a formal resolution across all 17 zones, collectively endorsing the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which proposes to expand the strength of the Lok Sabha from 543 to 816 seats, with 33 percent reservation for women.

Referring to the special session scheduled from the 16th to 18th of this month on the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, he underscored its importance in ensuring greater representation of women in legislatures. Dr. Mandaviya described the initiative as a significant step towards building a truly inclusive and developed India, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
