Kathmandu : Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal held a meeting with presidents of different committees under the House of Representatives, National Assembly and Joint Committee.
The meeting held on Monday was focused on the issue of making House business effective, according to Speaker Aryal’s Secretariat.
During the meeting, committee presidents raised the issue about parliament session. In response, Speaker Aryal shared that the decision in this regard would be taken only on Tuesday.

Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has suggested that political parties represented in the House of Representatives fill the positions of parliamentary party officials. Speaker Aryal suggested filling the positions of parliamentary party officials first in a discussion held on Monday at his office in Singh Durbar with the chief whips of political parties represented in the House of Representatives.
Basana Thapa, chief whip of the Nepali Congress, who participated in the meeting, informed that the Speaker held the first meeting with the chief whips and suggested filling the positions of officials.
‘The Speaker held the first meeting with the chief whips and whips. We discussed exchanging good wishes and coordinating on matters of running the house,’ Chief Whip Thapa told Ratopati. ‘During the discussion, the Speaker suggested filling the positions of parliamentary party officials and informing the secretariat.’
The meeting was attended by Krantishikha Dhital and Prakashchandra Pariyar, whips from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Chief Whip Thapa from the Nepali Congress, Whip Nita Ghataani from CPN UML, Chief Whip Yuvraj Dulal from the Communist Party of Nepal, and Chief Whip Khusbu Oli from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
However, no representative from the Shram Sanskriti Party was present. Spokesperson Joint Secretary Ekaraj Giri of the Federal Parliament Secretariat informed that the Speaker’s secretariat had informed the Shram Sanskriti Party by telephone to attend the meeting, but they did not participate.
