Searching through decades of parliamentary debates just got a lot easier, with the launch of a new AI-powered Hansard tool.
The new feature aims to improve public access to historical records from Gibraltar’s Parliament – dating back to 1969 through to the present day.
The AI search tool means over fifty years of parliamentary debate can now be found in seconds, rather than hours.
It will operate under strict parameters – designed to analyse content without generating new material.
It can also identify dates, figures, and verbatim quotations within debates.
As well as opening up transcripts to the public, it will be able to locate procedural precedents and historical context that previously required a manual search.
