GANDHINAGAR : Bomb threat email received at Gujarat Assembly today. SP Gandhinagar Ravi Teja said, “We received an email regarding a bomb threat today. Taking this into account, the police conducted a search and issued a certificate stating that the Assembly premises are completely safe and operations can continue.
Inspections are carried out at the Legislative Assembly every day, and a certificate is issued daily; however, today, a special inspection was conducted in light of this email. We submitted the certificate to the Speaker by 11:00 AM, and proceedings commenced on schedule. Apart from the Gandhinagar Legislative Assembly, bomb threats were also received regarding the district court and Jamnabai School today. Inspections are underway at those locations as well and are nearing completion; operations at the school and district court will resume as usual within 10–15 minutes.
Regarding the source of the email, it originated from outside the country using a VPN. It is likely being sent by anti-national elements intent on spreading violence and creating panic within the country. We urge the public not to panic; the Gujarat Police is vigilant about your safety. We respond immediately to any such complaints and ensure the premises are thoroughly checked and free of any threats. This is the second time such an email has been received regarding the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
