Jaipur: The monsoon session of the Rajasthan Assembly will begin on August 20, 2026 and is likely to last for about a week, an official spokesman said.
Governor Haribhau Bagade, convened the session yesterday, exercising powers vested in him under Article 174 (1) of the constitution, the spokesman said.
The session is expected to be brief but stormy. Amid rising political acrimony between the ruling BJP and traditional rival Congress, ahead of the long spell of urban civic body and Panchayat polls, contentious issues like paper leaks, the state of law and order, corruption and crimes may rock the House.
The state government may introduce at least some contentious Bills, including the Uniform Civil Code Bill and the Conservation of the Khejari Bill.
The House’s last budget session concluded on March 10, 2026, accordingly, the monsoon session was due by September 9, 2026.
