Special Punjab Assembly Session At Anandpur Sahib On Nov 24

Chandigarh: The Punjab cabinet on Saturday gave concurrence for summoning the 10th (special) session of the 16th Punjab Vidhan Sabha at Anandpur Sahib as part of commemorative events to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur. The special session will be held at Bhai Jaita Ji memorial on Nov 24.
It will be the first time the state legislature holds a formal session outside the Vidhan Sabha complex in Chandigarh. The session will be dedicated entirely to spreading the Guru’s message of supreme sacrifice, human rights, and universal brotherhood.
The session will be a state-level commemorative event spanning Nov 23-25, and the govt has also used the occasion to hint at major announcements, with speculation surrounding the potential proclamation of Anandpur Sahib as Punjab’s 24th district.
