Young Indians Parliament in DBMS Jamshedpur Inspires Democratic Leadership Among Students

The CII’s youth wing, Young Indians (Yi), successfully hosted the Young Indians Parliament 2026 at DBMS High School, Kadma, honoring 15 student leaders from 12 top Jamshedpur schools

Jamshedpur: A two-day “Young Indians Parliament (YIP) 2026” was held at DBMS High School, Kadma, by the Young Indians (Yi) Jamshedpur Chapter—the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The experiential initiative aimed to familiarize students with the inner workings of Indian parliamentary democracy while fostering leadership, analytical reasoning, and responsible citizenship.

A total of 12 premier schools across the city enthusiastically participated in the event, including Loyola School, DBMS Kadma High School, KPS Kadma, KPS NML, KPS Burmamines, St. John’s High School, JUSCO School South Park, JUSCO School Kadma, Narbheram Hansraj English School, AIWC Academy of Excellence, Kavyapta School, and Srinath Public School.

Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato inaugurated the session on day one, urging the youth to uphold democratic values and actively contribute to nation-building. On the final day, Ichagarh MLA Sabita Mahato attended the valedictory ceremony as the chief guest, praising the students’ discipline, public speaking skills, and structural understanding of legislative protocols.

Throughout the two-day mock assembly, students engaged in intense parliamentary debates, draft policy formulations, and legislative bill simulations, demonstrating teamwork and sharp rhetorical skills. Yi Jamshedpur reiterated its commitment to hosting such innovative platforms to empower future leaders.

  • Best Debater Award: Aryan Kumar (JUSCO School Kadma)
  • Most Persuasive Policy Award: Md. Shajib (Narbheram Hansraj English School)
  • Best Research & Presentation Award: Anika (KPS Kadma)
  • Innovative Ideas Award: Ayushman Piyush Mishra (KPS Kadma)
  • Community Impact Award: Karan Kumar (AIWC Academy of Excellence)
